We're in Production!

Hi everyone,

I have a very exciting update to share! The Drawn Hungry Core Game is officially in mass production! I spoke with my manufacturing partner last night and they've begun production on the 1,500 units.

Based on the first sample, I've been coordinating with the manufacturing partner to ensure the packaging and print quality meets my vision and values for the final product. Initially, my manufacturer used a styrofoam block in the game to fill space, but we switched it out for a cardboard filler to be more eco-friendly. I also requested a slight change to some of the colors printed on the box so they'll look perfect.

Right now, it's looking like the 1,500 units will be delivered to me here in Portland around mid-November. Of course, there's still a chance that the delivery could be earlier or later depending on how production and international shipping go. Either way, I just wanted to let you all know that we've made a big step forward.

Thank you again for supporting Drawn Hungry! I'll continue to share updates on the production and shipping progress.

Cheers!

Howdy Backers,

I'm super excited to share that my first manufacturing sample has arrived! I think you're all going to love this setup. From the custom-made box with three organized compartments (and plenty of extra room to eventually add in expansion packs) to the linen finish on the cards, I think you'll enjoy all the consideration that went into this design.

I even designed the rulebook to look similar to a menu.

Just a few weeks before sending all the files out to the manufacturer, I got a great suggestion to add another kind of card to the game that will demonstrate when you're done preparing your meal. I call them "Ready to Present Cards." They're some of my favorite "doodle artwork" in the game. You'll start each round with the Yellow "Making my Meal" side up, and then flip them over to the green "Ready to Present" side when you've finished preparing your meal. Each game will come with 10 of these cards.

It's so fun to see how everything came together after hundreds of hours worth of work!

I shared a couple of pieces of feedback with my manufacturing partner, about a couple of minor things. So I'm hoping to hear back from them soon and get a better idea of exactly when the games will be delivered here in Portland.

Thanks again for all the support! I couldn't do this without you.

Cheers,

Jordan

Drawings are done!

Hello my awesome Kickstarter Backers!

I’m thrilled to share that after almost a year and a half in development, all the Drawn Hungry artwork is done! During that time, I’ve spent well over 1,000 hours staring at my tablet drawing all 323 unique illustrations for the game. It’s immensely gratifying to have the bulk of the production process complete, especially five weeks ahead of my original schedule. You can see the exact moment I finished up the illustrations on this Instagram Reel. It feels like I can finally take a breath after working through so many late nights and weekends to celebrate this accomplishment.

It’s a short rest though. I want to ensure that Drawn Hungry conveys a wonderful experience from the feel of the cards, to the ease of understanding the rulebook, to how I can invite players to join my new Facebook Group or subscribe to my upcoming YouTube series. The next two weeks are focused on ensuring that all components are highly polished before sending everything off to my manufacturer.

I can't wait to get this game in your hands.

Howdy Foodie Friends!

After more than a year of drawing, designing, playtesting, promoting, crowdfunding, and girl-bossing - I'm seriously just DAYS away from finishing up all the illustrations. I've completed an incomprehensible 297 cards as of writing this newsletter. That leaves a mere 26 drawings in the pipeline. We are on track for a fall launch. I'm soooo excited to get this game to the manufacturer and into your hands as soon as possible, friend.

Thank you so much for your patience and support of this cute little culinary card game! I really could not do it without you.

P.S. Here are a few of my favorite recent dish drawings.

Cooking Up Fun: Your January Culinary Card Game Update 🍽️

Howdy, Kickstarter Backers!

Here in the Pacific Northwest, it feels like we just thawed out from a week-long deep freeze. I hope you're staying cozy, warm, and safe through this chilly winter. One thing that I kept thinking about was how perfect Drawn Hungry would have been for all of us stuck at home. A great little game to get people away from their screens and transported to a bountiful, whimsical land of Special Occasion-planning bunnies, no electricity required. That thought fueled my inspiration to spend the many, MANY hours I was at home illustrating ingredients galore.

And folks, we're getting SO close to completing all the artwork. As of writing this update, I only have 90 drawings left to go. That means I've already done a total of 233 illustrations! I'm just so excited to finally be able to get this game sent off to the factory and send it out to all of you.

Cheers!
